Things Employers Look For In College Graduates

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

A time where I showed that I was able to work well in a group was when 3 of my friends and I did a project in which we had to write a script andd create our own reality TV show. Each one of us had a different jobs to do to make the show a success. But in the end nobody did more or less than the next person and we all got the grade we deserved.

A time where I showed the abilities to write and speak well is when I was in the 7th grade and I was on the debate team. The teacher had told us each student had to come up with our own argument on child labor laws. when it was time for my argument , my teacher told me that my argument ws one of the best in the classand I was given an “A” on that assignment.

I Am Poem

I am Loud and Crazy
I wonder Why am I so young
I hear My mom calling my name
I see waves crashing against the sand
I want school to be over
I am Loud and Crazy

I pretend to be a model
I feel the warm feeling of my bed
I touch the soft petal of a carnation
I worry about my gramma
I cry when I lose someone very close
I am Loud and Crazy

I understand that i won’t live forever
I say that I’m perfectly imperfect
I dream to one day go to Paris
I try my hardest for my credits
I hope to pursue a career in dance
I am Loud and Crazy

I Found Poetry

There was no longer any joy in his eyes

He’s gone mad they said

Was he going to wipe out a whole people

Go wake up the neighbors so they can get ready

I felt a cool hand wiping my blood stained forehead

The procession was about to begin its march

We only thought of that

Not of revenge but of bread

From the depths of the mirror a corpse gazed back at me

The look in his eyes, as they stared into mine, has never left me.

Reading Guide Questions: 3-4

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

1. I think they hung a few prisoners in public to make an example of them so other prisoners could fear them.

2. The relationship changed because in the beginning of the story he thought his father was strong and could make through anything, but at the end of the story he thought his father had gave up to quickly.

3. It was significant because he thought of it was him leaving his son the only treasures he had.

4. They changed because Elie felt as though if faith hasn’t helped them by now, then faith was not going to help them no time soon.

5. He threw a loaf of bread into the train car. That shows that the German wanted to see the inmates fight over something.

6. The conflict that arose within Elie was he struggled on whether if he should try to keep his father alive or not.

7. Elie’s father is beaten to death and Elie feels as though any hope he had is gone.

8. Elie sounds as though he is describing two different people but in all actuality he’s talking about himself. I think that sentence means that he has moved on from what has happened but he will never forget it.

9. Elie tried to scare us with real stories and experiences that might not want to make us respond to it. But him telling his story made us want to respond even more.

10. I think the book was title “Night” because that part of his life felt like an endless depressing endless night that he couldn’t escape. And I don’t think I would change the title.

Reading Guide Questions: 1-2

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

1. He describes himself as a religious boy.

2. A foreign Jew who tried to tell the others about the Germans.

3. They really didn’t pay him any attention.

4. I think he began with the story of Moshe , because Moshe tried to warn them and they didn’t take his warnings.

5. They didn’t allow Jewish people to have anything valuable, they arrested any Jew for no reason, and they restricted them from coming outside for three days.

6. The way Elie and his family were separated was the women and children had to go in one line and the men and teenage boys were sent to another.

7. I think the Germans did that because they wanted to make the Jewish inmates feel horrible. They made them cut off their hair to keep down lice infections so the lice wouldn’t transfer to the guards.

8. I think it means that night will be a night he will never forget.

9. So far I think the novel is really good. I personally like reading non-fictional stories about the holocaust. The way the Jewish community was treated was horrible and I look forward to finishing the rest of the book.

Am I A Writer??

Sunday, October 31st, 2010

I do consider myself a writer because when Im feeling something I can pick up a pen an paper and begin to write my feelings. Writing helps me cope with my feelings and restrain myself from crying. As an adult , I dont see myelf as a writer because writing can sometimes be time consumin which means cuttin you off from the rest of the world around you.

Grrrr!

The Necklace: Guy De Maupassant

Sunday, October 31st, 2010

I cant believe I wasted ten years of my life paying for something that wasnt even real! My beauty is gone, I have nothing left to look forward to but one thing for certain and twothings for sure, I’m etting that necklace back! I’ll give her the money back for the fake necklace but that real one will be mine again. But, knowing my husband as soon as he finds out what happens , he’ll want to sale it to pay off the loan sharks and other expenses. Oh well at least maybe I can salvage the little amount of life I have left and make the best of it. Hopefully theres time.

Dear Publishing Agency,

There where many passages in this selection that  stood out to me. But what stood out to me in the whole reading selection is how a little girl who was used to ugliness, poverty, and disaray that when a person tried to bring some beauty into that discombobulated town, she felt so much hatred, so much antomosity towards it. This story speaks to som many different kinds of people. It connects to people all over the country. This story is basically saying that people who arent used to anything dont appreciate it until its gone.  This story deserved to be published and who ever disagree didnt et the message at all.
